Robin Romano was born and raised in Stockholm. He has always had an enormous passion for art and painting since he was a child and today he has many sources of inspiration, ranging from great artists like Michelangelo and Raphael to the works of modern artists like Mister Cartoon. He tries to take all the influences that inspire him and create his own style.
He began to tattoo at a young age as a hobby at home, or at a friend’s studio during the early years. In 2012 he decided to leave his job as a bartender in order to devote his full attention to his tattooing.
In 2015, Robin decided to rent a studio in Stockholm city a small room adjacent to a hairdresser’s salon. He combined tattooing with art and used the studio to paint and work with old customers he collected over the years. The studio was named Classic Ink.
After a while, he missed working with a team and began to look around until he got a job from Therese on Zoi Tattoo. After trying out Zoi’s two studies in Malmö and in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, Robin got a job as the main tattooist at Zoi Tattoo Allastars where he is working now.
Robin created his first tattoo at home on a friend who wanted to make a big music note on his triceps. He had no idea what he was doing or what needle he would use so he used the smallest line needle filling the entire tattoo. A few years later he fixed it.
The ideal customer for robin is someone who knows what they want but leaves the design and execution to him. “It’s always fun with customers that leave it to me, it’s usually then that the customer goes away super satisfied”, he says.
